In order to facilitate access to its services, Amazon offers a special program called “Prime Student”. This allows all college students to receive 50% off on Amazon Prime, and to receive a six-month free trial, 6 times more than what you get when you join the 30 days free trial of the standard Amazon Prime program.

What is Amazon Prime?

Amazon Prime Student is a special subscription program for college students enrolled in a university located in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia or Puerto Rico. The program offers the same services as Amazon Prime, with a discount of a 50% in comparison to what is regularly paid: fast and free shipping on millions of products, access to all the movies and online series available on Prime Video such as Upload or Hunters, access to more than 2 million songs with Prime Music, the possibility to store all the photos for free in Amazon Drive, priority access to flash offers and the possibility of reading hundreds of Kindle eBooks with the free app for iOS and Android.

Can I be an Amazon Prime Student for my entire life?

Well, it’s good to continuously feed your mind with new learnings. For the time being Amazon has limited the period of time for which a person can be part of the Amazon Prime Student program. In fact, it is possible to get access to Amazon Prime Student until graduation, or for a maximum of 4 years, whichever comes first. If desired, the subscription can be cancelled at any time.

How can I access Amazon Prime Student?

To become an Amazon Prime Student you will need:1. An account on Amazon.com.2. To be actively enrolled in at least one class at a college or university. Your college must be in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia or Puerto Rico. 3. A college email address (.edu). You do not need to be registered in Amazon with this email, but it will be used by Amazon to send you a verification email. If your college did not provide you this email when you enrolled, contact them and make it yours.4. A proof of college enrollment. Although Amazon does not request it during the sign up, they can contact you at any time and make you pay the associated costs in case you cannot proof to be enrolled. If you meet these requirements, then you can start your 6 months trial as Prime Student by following the steps indicated in the enrollment module.

What if I am not a student?

Those who are not college students can do 2 things. Subscribe to the free trial period of 30 days of Amazon Prime and then, if desired, keep the subscription by paying the full yearly rate, or ask their children, cousins or other relatives and friends who are part of the Amazon Prime Student program to make some purchases for them.
